Getting up at 4:15am to drive 110 miles fro SLC to the Bonneville Salt Flats was absolutely worth it! Being on I-80 West we were on the right site of the road as there is a rest area directly at the salt flats. When we arrive there it was shortly after 6am and the light was just beautiful.
The Bonneville Salt Flats are also or actually mainly popular for its speedway. Due to the flatness the salt flats are perfect for speeding and speed records!

Love, love, love your pictures of the salt flats. 11.5 hour drive from my house. Could make for a very worthwhile road trip. 🙂

It is–especially with 2 crazy kids in the backseat!–but we could find some nice places to stop along the way. My kids think a night at a hotel is a vacation in itself 🙂
