After being back home for almost 3 weeks I wanted to write a short summary of our trip.
In total I can say
.. we have been away for 21 days
… we drove 2705 miles (2 days rental car in SLC, 18 days RV)
… we drove through 6 states
… we visited 6 National Parks/National Monument/National Recreational Area (Zion NP, Grand Canyon NP, Glen Canyon RA, Dinosaur NM, Grand Teton NP, Yellowstone NP)
… we visited 5 State Parks (Bonneville Salt Flats SP, Coral Pink Sand Dunes SP, Gooseneck SP, Green River SP, Dead Horse Point SP)
… we spent the night in 10 different campgrounds ( 9 nights without hook ups, 7 nights with hook up)
… we saw bears, elk, Bison, coyotes, a badger, a moose, a wolf, ground squirrels and lots of other animals on the way
All in all I have to say that our first camping vacation was simply great. We enjoyed being out in the woods and to wake up to the sound of birds. We also enjoyed the silence and being away from a big city with all the hectic and stress. It was great to just plan our days the way we liked it, to have breakfast/lunch/dinner wherever we wanted to and not having to find a place to eat every night.
It was good to experience that we do not really need a lot. It was fine being without electricity and water for a few days, I even admit I miss it!
We will go camping again, that is for sure!
P.s. I have attached a short overview of our route just in case you are interested. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask!
