Canyonlands National Park

Canyonlands is my personal favorite! It is one of the most beautiful places that I have ever been to.

Here are a few points why I liked Canyonlands so much:

  • its less crowded than other parks in the south west (only half a million visitors compared to 2 million at Arches)
  • everything is easily accessible
  • great hikes (short, long etc.)
  • stunning scenary
  • mesa arch at sunrise is a beautiful spot for pictures (if you do not mind a lot of others who want to see the sunrise too ๐Ÿ™‚
  • and just so much more

When you leave the highway coming from or driving to Moab to enter the road to the park its like entering a whole different planet. Eventhough its only a few miles away from Moab and therefore Arches National Park the landscape is so different. Its hard to explain so maybe I let the pictures speak for me.

      • Hoping to do parks in Utah, Arizona, and Nevada. I will be driving from Los Angeles and will only have a couple of weeks for this particular trip. So far I also have Zion, Arches, Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Bryce Canyon, Sedona, Red Rock, and the Grand Canyon. Might you have any other suggestions?
